Chocolate Cake

Homemade cake for the girls birthday party in their classroom last year.



Chocolate Cake

190 gram butter
250 gram caster sugar
4 eggs
220 self raising flour
50 gram cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon bicarbonate soda
1 teaspoon essence vanilla
300 ml fresh milk

Method:-

1. Beat butter and sugar till light and fluffy.
2. Add in egg one at a time.
3. Add in essence vanilla and mix well.
4. Add in flour and milk. Alternate. Mix well.
5. Put into 8 x 8 inch pan (line baking pan with wax paper) and bake in a preheated oven temperature 350C for 50 minutes or until cake tester inserted comes out clean.
6. Remove cake from oven and let it cool.

Topping

1 cup corn flour
1 cup cocoa powder
4 egg yolk
2 cups evaporated milk
1 ½ cup hot water
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon choc. emulco

Mix hot water and milk. Add flour in and add egg yolk. Add in essence vanilla and choc. Emulco. Mix well.
Put sugar in a pot and add in the mixture. Stir the mixture. Using double boil method continue to stir until it becomes thicken. Cut the cake into half and spread some toppings on it. Place another half of the cake on top and cover the cake with the remaining topping.

Note: if you dont have choc.emulco just omit them.
