Spices of Life: Ueno

Yesterday, when I got home after abang's aikido, my other half said hey wanna go to Kofu to see the Samurai Parade or we can go to Tokyo National Museum, Ueno to see the Special Exhibition on Asharyu. Without much thought, I decided we should go to Kofu although its quite a distance from Tokyo (its somewhere near Mt. Fuji) bcoz the Samurai Parade is not an everyday thing, only when there's celebration. For Ueno, we can go anytime coz its only 28 minutes train ride from our place.

Hubby wasnt interested to drive, easier to take train he said....its only 1 1/2 hour ride from Shinjuku Station and more relaxing to him. We left home at 12noon and when we got to Shinjuku Station...holy crap the train fare to Kofu is around Y21,000 for the whole family (to and fro) and I told him......just to go and spend 2 hours in Kofu it's really not worth it....might as well next time we plan carefully and spend a nite there and get to discover more of Kofu and Mt. Fuji. At the current foreign exchange its almost 800 Ringgit just for the fare. Tup..tup...change of plan...from Shinjuku ....Ueno here we come.

Ueno is another tourist destination in Tokyo. There's just so many things that you can see and explore here. It's home to Ueno Onshi Koen (Ueno Park), Ueno Zoo, Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Art, National Nature and Science Museum, Ameyoko Shopping Street (Ameyoko ni lebih kurang macam kita punya Petaling Street in KL), Western Art Gallery and you can also take the Narita Express Train to Narita Airport. There's also Hard Rock Cafe in Ueno. This place is always bustling with a large number of people of all ages. Meriah sungguh kat Ueno semalam....masih ramai lagi orang yang berpiknik bawah pokok sakura tu walaupun sakura tu dah separuh gondol.

We stopped at one of the stall to buy some takoyaki (sotong ball), the kids just love them....sampai Ueno beli sebelum nak balik rumah pun singgah lagi beli.

Lepas pusing-pusing ambil gambar, we went to Tokyo National Museum and gosh..just so many people and we have to wait to go in. Furthermore, with these young kids its better to take them to the Science Museum, they will definitely enjoy it better than National Museum. We were there until the Museum tutup... tu pun budak2 tu tak puas lagi so we promised them that we will go again next time.

Keluar je Museum tu....pusing-pusing lagi ambil gambar and baby nak naik some kiddy rides kat situ.

Cute kan pakcik ni....dah habis berniaga for the day gamaknya but he's kinda sporting..siap berenti to allow us to take his picture. Comelkan mobile stall dia ni...

Finally we got home at 7pm....aduh mak letih akak...but happy that everyone had a good time. Sampai je rumah semua orang dah kelaparan but of course mummy said no one gets to eat if you dont freshen up....dah berebut-rebut budak 3 orang ni nak mandi...hahahahaha
